See some of my work
This is from Content Design by Sarah Winters. I did not design it! But it is a great book everyone should read. -->

Covid19.ca.gov
is the COVID-19 website for the state of California.
I was its first full-time content designer starting in April 2020. I led a content team of 3-5 people for 2 years.
We obsessed over learning what our users needed and making that easy to find.
Public Digital ranked us highly for being fast, readable, and accessible.
I'm most proud of the site's What's open search. During lockdown, Californians could look up what businesses were open in their county.
User research told us that people had a hard time navigating the reopening. So we built a database of search terms they used and tied it to open/closed info.
They could get answers to simple questions like, "Can I get a haircut in Santa Clara?"
Our team wrote a blog post about it.
Socialeyesonyou.com
was the website for The Social Eye, a small business I ran from 2018 to 2023.
We created social content for optical businesses. Our clients were eye care practices, optical shops, and eyewear lines.
Our clients were all small businesses who are both healthcare providers and retailers.
We were named a Gamechanger in Optical for 2019 by Eyecare Business magazine.
I say "we," but The Social Eye was a one-woman shop. I did everything: writing, photography, graphics, research, strategy, engagement, and analysis.
Social media taught me how to be brief and effective.
Before that, I wrote for the websites and blogs of many large companies:
I sure wish we had content design principles back then!
I can expand more on my qualifications in person. Let's talk!
